Dear Friends & Family,

We hope 2013 has gotten off to a good start for you, as it has for us.  We had a bit of a break over New Year’s when some friends came to visit from out of town but we quickly jumped back into the swing of things, full steam ahead (which is one reason why you haven’t heard from us recently)

The Lord is giving us many opportunities to invest ourselves for the blessing of His people here in Thailand.  In fact, there are so many things that we *could* be doing that it is hard to say “no” at times, and to decide what is the best use of our time.  Please pray for stamina & wisdom as we seek to be good stewards of the limited time and energy that God has given us, giving proper attention to both ministry and family.

Dear Friends & Family,

Once again we find ourselves at the end of December and it is a good time to reflect on the Lord’s goodness to us over the past year, and to give thanks.

This past January found us still in Southern California, under-supported, and not sure when we would be able to get back to Thailand.  Yet by May, God had graciously provided through many of you, and we were on our way to Bangkok.

In Bangkok, God had prepared a rental house for us right next to Bangkok Bible Seminary (we share a fence), and even given us a small yard for kids to play, plants to grow, and chickens to squawk.  We set up house, got lost a lot in Bangkok traffic, and settled into our new life here.  The kids and Sun have taken to home schooling and finding their way to the grocery store in the concrete jungle, and Karl has enjoyed the challenge of teaching seminary and assisting the editors at the publisher.

Dear Friends & Family,

Our family continues to keep busy here in Bangkok and we appreciate your continued prayers for us and for the Thai people.

END OF SEMESTER LOOMING

There are just a few short weeks left unti the end of Karl’s first term teaching at Bangkok Bible Seminary.  The first year is always challenging for new teachers as they prepare and teach courses that they have never taught before, and Karl’s experience has been no different.  Teaching in a second language adds it’s own challenge as well. But his course in World Missions has been going well, and our family has been integrating into the seminary community, getting to know students and faculty.  Please pray that not only Karl’s teaching, but also our lives and relationships with the students will be a blessing and example that will draw us all closer to Christ and adorn the Gospel of grace.
